Guided Meditation
Take a few moments to use the breath to let go of your worries. See all the stressors around you disappearing as you listen to this guided meditation. Visualize yourself in an incredibly beautiful place with your heart filled with joy. You are out in nature and surrounded by a lush green forest. The sun beams are glistening through the tall pine trees and warming your body with this golden light. Feel the rays of the sun penetrate you, letting go and breathing in the fragrance of the forest. As you continue with this guided meditation, listen to the birds sing a glorious morning song, and notice the eminent beauty all around you. You are in awe of these exquisite woods and decide to sit down on a bed of pine needles and breathe in this fresh clean air while enjoying this guided meditation.
Listen to the stillness. Breathe the essence of the forest into your body. Fill your cells and all the organs of the body with this freshness. Allow yourself to feel rejuvenated as you take in this life force energy. For the next several minutes allow yourself to focus on the breath and continue to breathe in the abundance of the surroundings during this guided meditation.
After a while you begin to feel the stress moving out of your chest and you notice any tightness melting away. As you scan your body you feel your shoulders and arms relaxing. Each breath takes you deeper into a place of inner calm and you notice that you are happier and lighter than at the beginning of the guided meditation. Continue relaxing your body and move your attention to your hips and legs. Notice how they feel? If you feel tightness, visualize it releasing with the breath. Sit still and listen as the next set of stressors leave your body. Stay detached and remain the observer. Notice how your body feels? Are you constricting your breath? Is there agitation in the body? Just notice it. Can you observe different thoughts that come up during your guided meditation?
Bring yourself back to a place of center. This is your special time for relaxation; enjoy this guided meditation and allow it to help you unwind the stressors of the day. Stay with it for as long as you like and when you feel complete, lie down and just relax for a few moments to receive all the benefits of this guided meditation. Give thanks to yourself for taking time out of your busy schedule, for the beauty of the forest, and the lightness of your being.
Guided meditation can be used on a daily basis or as often as you like. Some people prefer to sit quietly by themselves without using a guided meditation, while other people like to have the support of a tranquil voice to guide them into a relaxed state. Try several different guided meditations until you find a couple that you like. Thank you for your desire to find that place of inner stillness.
