Mother-Daughter Retreat

Mother-Daughter Retreat

It is not what you do for your children but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings.

Ann Landers (1918-2002), Newspaper advice columnist

Most women long to have a meaningful relationship with their mother/daughter. Give yourself the gift of some special time alone with one another and take home memories from this mother/daughter retreat that will live with you forever.

Our Story

My mother and I have woven a multi-colored tapestry. At times it is very beautiful and filled with intimate moments and the utmost respect for one another. Other times, we have not spoken to each other and have felt very sorely about the other person. I realize my relationship with my mother is a continual journey of surrendering and awakening. The need to break the Holy Mother image became very strong. This image creates the illusion that my mother was perfect, and did not have any faults. I knew in my heart that was not true but somewhere the image was much bigger than that. I found this illusion to be my biggest thorn that had kept me from having a deeper relationship. I needed to surrender to the truth, and take my mother off of the pedestal and hope to see each other as equals. Once this process began, it opened many new doorways of possibilities and shed a new light on our relationship. The more I let go of what my relationship with my mother is supposed to be, the more I receive what it is. My mother and I have followed different spiritual paths. I was raised Catholic and later sought out an understanding of many different religions and a deep longing for prayer and ceremony. My mother is a practicing Catholic and enjoys her time with the church. For many years we have come together at special times during the year, and have been able to honor our different spiritual path by sharing in each other's practice.

Today, my mother and I continue with our ceremonial work. My soul searching has allowed me the realization to know the importance of rekindling this primary relationship not only for myself, but for the world at large. These experiences have contributed to my journey of awakening. And each time I shed light on my own unresolved issues, I see my outer reflections and relationships change.

New Ebook Release

Awaken the Spiritual Woman Ebook
In Awaken the Spiritual Woman, author Kellyna Campbell presents a spectacular and instinctive perspective for women to honor their mother-daughter relationships, through the use of prayer and ceremony. The book opens with the enormous benefits that we can experience, through the use of very ancient and familiar techniques. A typical ceremony begins when a sacred space is set by creating an altar through the use of pictures, candles, water, & other tools. Setting the space and offering a prayer, creates an atmosphere that opens the heart for deeper communication with oneself or between the participants. The ceremonies presented in the book include personal solitude, honoring mother-daughter relationships, prayer circles, rites of passage, and ceremonies in nature.
